Free antigen tests for employees with a first dose of vaccine

The voting of the Government bill 7924 in the Parliament (Chambre des députés) marks the entry into force of the new government measures for mandatory 3G in the workplace from 15 January 2022, allowing for a safer working environment in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, all employees will be required to present either a valid vaccination certificate, a valid recovery certificate or a valid negative COVID-19 test certificate when visiting their workplace.

Employees who have their first vaccine dose can be tested free of charge from 14 January 2022, while waiting for their second dose. As of Thursday, 16 December 2021, they are provided a set of 20 codes when they receive their first dose of vaccine. These codes will allow them to carry out 20 free certified antigen tests in one of the five testing centres managed by the Luxembourg Army until they have a complete vaccination pattern, and this until 28 February 2022. The website www.covidtesting.lu will be available from 10 January 2022 to make appointments.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, François Bausch, and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Steve Thull, will present the details of this test campaign at a press conference on 5 January 2022 at 11 am, which will be broadcast live with simultaneous translation into French on the official Government website.
